Government of St. Vincent Dismisses Unvaccinated Teachers

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Several teachers have been formally dismissed from their jobs for failure to take a COVID-19 vaccine as mandated without medical or religious exemptions, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) confirmed on Thursday.

Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10, the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.  The UDHR, which proclaims the inalienable rights of all people, consists of a preamble and 30 articles that set out a broad range of fundamental human rights and freedoms for all people. It guarantees our rights without distinction of nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, religion, language or any other status. This year marks the UDHR’s 73rd anniversary.
