Back in the days when a man beat his wife and the wife beat the children and the children beat the dog, was that considered abuse, or mere punishment, the administering of justice?

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Not every Caribbean person likes reggae or soca. Food tastes in the region vary too, as do religious beliefs. The accents spit in different directions.

What is causing this resurgence in hate and making so many white nationalists and supremacists so mad at immigrants and people of color in the United States that they are ready to kill again?

It’s hard for many to imagine that illegal immigration is also a problem for some Caribbean nations, including the hurricane devastated The Bahamas.

A number of black people born in the United States of America - many of whom not only simultaneously insist they are not Africans, but also ironically and simultaneously insist on being referred to as African Americans - have begun to insist they are the only people who deserve reparations in America.

“We must, and we will rebuild, and restore Grand Bahama and Abaco stronger and more resilient. We are one Bahamas. When any part of our nation is affected, we are all affected. In rebuilding Abaco and Grand Bahama, we are restoring our Commonwealth”- Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis vows The Bahamas will recover from Hurricane Dorian.

As the nation is split down the middle, the Democrats and the Republicans take their sides. Everyone is right, and everyone is wrong. The American Democracy is being challenged to its core, and there appears to be no place for compromise.

In just over two weeks, there will be an election in Orlando for Mayor of the city. There are two Black candidates, Commissioner Samuel Ings, and Aretha Simons, against the incumbent Mayor Buddy Dyer. Mayor Dyer has been in his position for 16 years, and it appears that he will win again on 11-5-2019.

Now, between the genders, boys seem to be more spirited, rambunctious, adventurous, rowdy, exciting, daring and troublesome.
