LONDON, UK – BermudAir says it plans to acquire ten A220-300 aircraft as it seeks to bolster its expanding list of routes. The Airbus A220-300 is promoted as seating up to 160 passengers and with the ability to fly more than 6,000km.
BermudAir, which operates flights to several destinations in the United States, Canada, and Anguilla, is scheduled to expand its operations into Grand Cayman, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Belize and Guatemala in December.
The agreement to purchase the aircraft was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow here and the company’s first direct aircraft order with Airbus. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The airline said the 135-seat, three-class A220-300 aligns with its premium travel experience, offering larger overhead bins, wider seats and improved passenger comfort.
Founder and chief executive officer, Adam Scott, said the aircraft’s range, efficiency and performance would help BermudAir connect more communities while maintaining the airline’s focus on premium service.
“The A220 is the ideal aircraft to support the next phase of BermudAir’s growth. Its exceptional range, operating economics and performance at constrained airports will allow us to connect more communities across Bermuda, the Caribbean, Central and North America with direct, reliable and convenient air service,” said Scott.

Airbus said the agreement highlights the A220’s ability to support regional connectivity in island markets while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions by approximately 25 per cent per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft.

BermudAir said it plans to grow its A220 fleet to as many as 20 aircraft by 2030.
