KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is moving ahead with its preparations for the upcoming September 30 by-election in the constituency of North East St. Ann.
This follows the nomination of three who were nominated on Wednesday.
They are David Anderson, an independent candidate, the ruling Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Matthew Samuda and Chase Neil of the United Independents’ Congress.
According to Director of Elections Glasspole Brown the work to take place over the coming days will include the training of workers and preparation of ballots.
The North East St Ann constituency became vacant following the resignation of Marsha Smith last week. The main opposition People’s National Party (PNP) will not be contesting the by-election.
There are 40,346 Electors on the Voters List for North Eastern St Ann.
