Cuban President Denounces “Continuous Imperial Harassment Against Venezuela

HAVANA, Cuba – Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday denounced what he says is  the continuous imperial harassment against Venezuela.

canelvaPresident Miguel Díaz-CanelIn a statement posted to his social media account on X, the Cuban head of state condemned foreign interference and the attacks by the “oligarchy and media and political manipulation to encourage destabilization and pave the way for a coup to overthrow the legitimate Bolivarian and Chavista government.”

Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party, shared on his X message part of his speech  delivers at the 11th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) regional organization.

In that speech, the Cuban leader called for unity and firmness in the face of imperialism and the oligarchies, who take advantage of just the smallest chance to attack the victory and stability of any people-favoring forces, and thus hinder social development policies and destroy the dreams made come true if they get to power.

The ALBA-TCP member nations called for respect to the sovereignty and self-determination of Venezuela and affirmed their commitment to the principles of solidarity, social justice and cooperation, which are major foundations of the regional integration organization.

The leaders, in a joint declaration, backed Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro against the transnational power attack which has imposed by over 930 unilateral coercive measures against on Venezuela.
