As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, there are still important ways that you can help stop the spread of COVID-19. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed, which means to stay home as much as possible. If you must go out, be sure to practice social distancing, leaving 6 feet between you and any person you come in contact with.

Florida Department of Health Updates New COVID-19 Cases, Announces Fourteen Deaths Related to COVID-19

TALLAHASSEE — Today, the Florida Department of Health announced that the list of long-term care facilities in Florida associated with COVID-19 cases will now include active cases in each facility in order to provide real-time data. The list of long-term care facilities with active COVID-19 cases is available here. To date, 319 individuals that were staff or residents of a long-term care facility have died.

CHI Receives 3.2 Million Dollar Aid Federal Award for COVID-19 and Opens New Testing Location

Miami, Florida- Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) is grateful to receive the much needed nearly $3.2 Million aid award from (HRSA) the Health Resources and Services Administration. The money will partially fund CHI’s efforts to help the community battle the COVID-19 pandemic. CHI was the first to offer drive-through COVID-19 testing in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties and continues to do so. In fact, today it opens a new drive through COVID-19 testing location at CHI’s campus in Homestead, the Martin Luther King/Clinica-Campesina Health Center 74 SW 6th Ave., Homestead, FL 33030 from 10am to 1pm.

CHI Adjusts COVID-19 Testing Operations

Miami, Florida- Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) will no longer offer drive though COVID-19 testing in Florida City. But, CHI will continue to do drive through COVID-19 testing in Homestead and Marathon.  The non-profit organization was the first to provide drive through Coronavirus testing in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

A Bedside Birthday Party

When our caregivers at Broward Health Coral Springs learned that a patient who is recovering from COVID-19 was turning 70, they decided to throw him a birthday party. The team bought balloons, a cake and invited Louis Scott’s family to join the celebration via an iPad. Then, they gathered by his bedside and sang “happy birthday.”
