Cuba’s COVID-19 Vaccines

KINGSTON, Jamaica, – Cuba is the only country in Latin America and the Caribbean developing COVID-19 vaccines. There has been interest in these vaccines within the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). In Jamaica, there have been calls for the Government to explore the possibilities with Cuba and it was reported recently that Suriname wants to take a Cuban vaccine. There is long-standing cooperation between CARICOM and Cuba. There is a CARICOM/Cuba trade agreement.

Mayor Hazelle Rogers Gets 2nd Vaccine and Encourages Everyone to do the Same

On Monday, March 22, 2021, the Governor included persons 50 and older to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.  The parking lot of Walmart Supercenter located at 3001 N. State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, FL was cool and comfortable under the sounds of “DJ Mickey Mike” with WZOP Radio again.  Mayor Hazelle Rogers received her first round of the COVID-19 vaccine three weeks ago and returned for the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

What African-Americans and Other Minorities Need to Know About Their Risks for Cancer

The good news on cancer? According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), cancer incidence and mortality overall are declining in all population groups in the U.S.—due in large part to impressive advances in diagnosis and treatment as well as increased public awareness of the need for regular screenings. The bad news? Minority populations – Blacks and African-Americans, in particular – are still more likely to develop cancer and die from the disease.
