Microsoft Presents Powerful and Historic Virtual Experience to Empower Students and Communities This Black History Month

Learning, and celebrating Black History has never been more important. Microsoft understands this fact and has committed to providing a platform for schools, students, and youth organizations for this year's Black History Month celebration. Utilizing the world of technology, Microsoft will highlight and virtually transport 13 of the world's top Black History Museum exhibits into every student's home or classroom across North America. This partnership with museums, historical landmarks, cultural centers, athletes, and civic influencers worldwide will include a month-long series of FREE immersive and interactive experiences for K-12 schools and the community to celebrate and learn. Chairman-Elect Diaz Seeks Donations for Victims of Hurricanes Iota and Eta

MIAMI-DADE – The Miami-Dade County Commission on Dec. 15 approved a resolution sponsored by Chairman-elect Jose “Pepe” Diaz to allow County employees to contribute the monetary value of their accrued holiday and annual leave time to the county’s Emergency Disaster Relief Fund to help Central America recover from the devastating effects of Hurricanes Eta and Iota.

COVID-19 Vaccines for Seniors in Miramar This Saturday

MIRAMAR, FL  – This upcoming Saturday, February 6th from 8am to 5pm, the State will be administering 1,000 vaccines at ChristWay Baptist Church located at 3800 South Douglas Road in Miramar.Seniors can call the church at 954-442-7477 to schedule an appointment and are encouraged to arrive no more than 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment time.

Commissioners Discuss Making Juneteenth an Official Broward County Holiday

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Commissioners are considering designating June 19th, also known as Juneteenth, an official paid holiday for Broward County. Juneteenth commemorates the official end of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865. President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation had officially outlawed slavery in 1863, but it took more than two years for slavery to come to an end throughout the United States.
