Benefiting Charities:
The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1974 by a group of Black business leaders out of a need for a strong organization that could objectively advocate the needs of a growing Black business community. For over forty years the Chamber has driven the evolving landscape of the black business community in South Florida. Through numerous social unrest and a notable decline of several black business infrastructures, the Chamber has been the constant that the people count on to thrive forward and turn the tide. In 2022, a group of members located in South Dade decided that there needed to be a more concerted effort placed on Chamber members located in the Southern Area of Miami-Dade County and the South Branch began.
The Historic Society was established in 2013 with the mission to be the collection, preservation, and dissemination of archival information related to the Black South Floridians. We shall disseminate information to underserved Black South Florida communities. By doing so we wish to inspire, nurture, and instill a resilient Spirit for life. We are also charged to provide cultural events to ignite the economic vibrance of South Dade by amplifying the viability of the community.
