M-DCPS Awarded $1 Million Dept. of Education Grant to Ensure All Students Have Access to a High-Quality Education

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been awarded the Fostering Diverse Schools Demonstration Grant, providing $1 million in funding over the next two years by the U.S. Department of Education. The grant aims to ensure all students have equitable access to a high-quality education. M-DCPS is the only school district in Florida to be awarded this grant. With this funding, M-DCPS will strengthen data capacity at the school level, allowing the District to gain a more robust understanding of student needs.

Additionally, these funds will support in-depth market research to gain deeper insight into community needs. Over the next two years, the District will develop a comprehensive plan with targeted strategies for improving student achievement and deepening community engagement at our schools. This grant will be managed by the Office of Strategic Planning & Initiatives in collaboration with various other departments and will involve engagement with community partners, parents, students, teachers, and the business community.
