Denzel Martin Releases New Song 'Bounce With Me' From Upcoming Album
Let Me In is the title of singer Denzel Martin’s debut album, scheduled for release late this year. It contains Bounce With Me, his latest song, which he co-produced with Delroy “Fatta” Pottinger.
Bounce With Me is the fourth song to be released from the pending album. The others are Sorry, Love Song and a cover of Lionel Richie’s Hello.
Martin, a graphic designer based in Chicago, is excited about releasing his first album on which he shares production credit with Pottinger and American Andy Gibbs.
“It’s something I’m really looking forward to. It’s a very colourful album that showcases a variety of sounds,” he said.
A longtime resident of Chicago, Martin recorded songs in Jamaica prior to migrating to the United States. While he continued to do music there, he shelved thoughts for a music career for academics, earning a degree in fine arts from Chicago College.
Seven years ago, he returned to music with Love Song. Follow-up tracks such as Sorry, Hello and War completed that comeback.
Released in February, Bounce With Me has a dancehall/hip hop flavor, intended to introduce Martin to a freah audience. Helping him to achieve that is Pottinger, chief engineer at Anchor Recording Studio in Kingston, and a producer who has worked with established artists such as Big Mountain and Sanchez.
"Bounce With Me has a dancehall and hip-hop vibe, which was intentional. I wanted to reach a wide range of listeners. Most of the songs for my upcoming album are lovers rock, so I needed to add some variety to the album, and Bounce With Me was chosen," Martin explained.
