FACE UP: CDC Recommends Masks for Students in School

Using a face covering is recognized among the strongest measures to avoid contracting the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), especially in crowded surroundings like school.

Face maskssFace mask and sanitizing are ways to avoid infection.The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends wearing face coverings. Below are a few CDC’s guidelines:

* Wearing cloth face coverings should be a priority when it is difficult for students to stay six feet apart from each other.

* Cloth face coverings should not be worn by children younger than two years old, anyone who has trouble breathing or anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance.

* Choose cloth face coverings that fit snugly, but comfortably against the side of the face, completely cover the nose and mouth and are secured with ties or ear loops.

* Practice with your child putting on and taking off cloth face coverings without touching the cloth.
