Regional Countries Told It Is Possible to Develop the Necessary Resilience to Deal With the Impact of Natural Disasters

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The World Bank’s Country Director for the Caribbean, Lilia Burunciuc, Tuesday said it is possible for  regional countries to develop the necessary resilience to face some of the world’s most severe environmental risks such as hurricanes, floods, volcanic eruptions, and coastal pressures that can erase progress within hours.

World Bank Conducts Review of Regional CEGEB Project

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The Guyana government says the World Bank has conducted a hybrid Implementation Review and Support Mission for the Caribbean Efficient and Green-Energy Buildings (CEGEB) project to assess implementation progress and provide technical support for ongoing project activities.

The Bahamas Opens Globally Recognized Category 5 Hurricane Shelter

NASSAU, Bahamas – A climate resilient hurricane shelter, able to withstand category five level disasters and flagged as a global best practice, has been opened and  activated on the island of Abaco, representing a tri-lateral partnership between the governments of The Bahamas and India and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
