Cayman Tourism Hits Record High in April

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – The Cayman Islands recorded another strong month for tourism in April, welcoming a record 47,884 stay-over visitors, up 12 percent compared to April 2025 and 3.9 percent above the previous April record set in 2019.

garysutGary Rutty – Tourism MinisterThe growth was driven largely by increased arrivals from the United States, while Canada posted its sixth consecutive month of double-digit growth. Cruise tourism also rebounded, with 145,707 passengers arriving in George Town — the highest April total since before the pandemic.

Combined stay-over and cruise arrivals reached 173,596 visitors, representing a 37 percent increase over last year.

Tourism Minister

said the strong performance positions the sector well heading into the slower summer season, noting that tourism continues to provide major economic benefits through jobs, business activity, and visitor spending.

Officials also highlighted expanding airlift from Canada, including increased flights from Toronto and the return of Porter Airlines later this year, as key drivers of continued growth.

The Department of Tourism said hotel occupancy, room rates, and tourism revenues all increased in April, adding that the destination remains focused on sustaining momentum and ensuring tourism growth continues to benefit Caymanians throughou
