Over 20 Boats from Jamaica and the Cayman Islands Set For International Marlin Tournament

PORTLAND, Jamaica - The defending champion, Brac Rebel from the Cayman Islands, will be one of five boats from that island taking on Jamaica’s finest at the prestigious Superstars of Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament.

marlinThis year’s event, set for September 23-28, promises fierce competition and is expected to draw top anglers from both nations to the scenic shores of Portland, Jamaica.

Now in its eighth year, the tournament has become a major fixture in the international sportfishing calendar, offering an impressive USD 330,000 in cash prizes and trophies. The stakes are high, with a grand prize awarded for the largest marlin caught.

Adding to the excitement, the overall tournament winner will also earn the coveted opportunity to represent the Caribbean at the Offshore World Championships in Costa Rica.

Tournament Director Robert “Bobby” Stewart expressed the growing anticipation surrounding this year’s event.

The tournament, launched in 2017 with a modest fleet of 16 boats, has rapidly grown in stature and now boasts one of the highest marlin catch rates per boat/day in Jamaica, making it a must-attend for serious sportfishing enthusiasts.
