Shaw, who featured at the recent FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, bagged an astonishing 31 goals from 30 games in all competitions to force her way into the squad.

Shaw also displayed her all-round game by chalking up nine assists in all competitions.

“We’re delighted to see Alex, Yui and Bunny recognized with a place in the PFA Team-of-the-Season,” said City Women’s Managing Director, Gavin Makel.

“Like their teammates, they have each worked incredibly hard to bring success to the club and are each fully deserving of their inclusion.

“They embody what this team and Club is all about: hard work, consistency and quality both on and off the pitch.

“It’s also particularly pleasing to see one of our defenders, midfielders and forwards included in the team; a demonstration of our team’s solid spine and foundations for the future.”

He continued: “Gareth Taylor has assembled an exciting squad ahead of the 2023/24 season, and Alex, Yui and Bunny are sure to be an important part of that in the coming months.”

Shaw, who joined City from French side Bordeaux two years ago, narrowly missed out on the Golden Boot after netting 20 of her goals in the Women’s Super League.
