Caribbean Lottery Continues Annual Sponsorship of Outreach Activities

Philipsburg, St. Maarten – Caribbean Lottery continues to show benevolence by helping to shoulder the “cost to care” through annual sponsorship of outreach activities completed by the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise and Broadcaster and Humanitarian, Valerie van Putten despite the financial difficulties during the pandemic.

The monetary contributions will aid community outreach initiatives towards nutritional health, eyecare and educational projects for students from low-income backgrounds.

Vice President of the Rotary Club, Ms. Henry expressed her gratitude to the Caribbean Lottery team for the recent sponsorship and yearly support of the club’s charity programs.

“Thank you, Caribbean Lottery for continuing to partner with the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise to cater and provide for those in need within the St. Maarten community. This donation will enable the club to execute the community projects planned for this Rotary year, which target basic education and literacy, eyecare, and the provision of breakfast programs.”

Broadcaster and Producer of the Now You Know radio show on SZV Radio, Ms. van Putten also expressed gratitude to the Caribbean Lottery for its seven consecutive years of sponsorship and support for her Now You Know Breakfast Program which benefits students at the Prins Willem Alexander School in Belvedere.

“Thank you once again for your kind and generous contribution to the breakfast program for the children of the Prins Willem Alexander School. It is very assuring to know that there are caring individuals and corporate citizens still around that we can call on to assist when needed,” Ms. van Putten noted. She went on to state her satisfaction that “students will receive a meal during the day…especially now, when things on the island have become increasingly difficult with the aftermath of hurricane Irma and then being hit by the global pandemic.”

Ms. Williams, Site Manager, Caribbean Lottery also reaffirmed her pleasure in responding to the various calls for support. “Caribbean Lottery has gladly supported both the Now You Know Breakfast program and the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise over the years. In times like these, some charitable initiatives rely on responsible corporate social intervention to ‘get off the ground’ or to be sustained so that people who are in need can get assistance,” Ms. Williams stated.
