Stacy 'Elevated' Wilson Set to Release First Album in 2025

When Stacy Wilson decided to become a recording artist three years ago, she faced discouragement from unlikely quarters. Even though she is a person of faith, she was jolted by the negativity.

stacywiThe Jamaican singer has the last laugh, as she is nominated for Multicultural Artist of The Year at the Florida Gospel Music Awards in October.

She recorded and released You Chose Me, in early 2022, after a period of soul-searching and reconnecting with God. But the naysayers doubted her talent.

"Still, even in the midst of what God was showing/telling me, the enemy still tried to crush me. During that time, I was going through Church hurt, bad criticism, deceptions and lies. People who I loved and believed in and who I thought loved and believed in me, crushed me with their constant disparaging remarks, which caused me to doubt myself and what God was doing," Wilson recalled. "I was reminded of the horrible things they were saying about me...things like, 'My time had passed. My season was up. I will never make it. My singing was outdated.”

You Chose Me, a ballad, was followed last year by the reggae-rocking Jehovah which features Dean Fraser on saxophone. Wilson who is also known as Elevated, recently released I Am Blessed, her third single.

Her first album is scheduled for release in 2025.

Originally from Crescent District in Spanish Town, St. Catherine parish, Wilson has lived in Orlando, Florida since 2005. Her influences include a mix of gospel and secular artists such as CeCe Winans, Maria Providence, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

She credits the Almighty for giving her the courage to finally record songs she had written.

"What caused me to finally take on this journey to become a professional gospel singer/artist was when I let go and let God in. I began to trust Him more, to listen and believe in Him...that what He says, He will do!" said Wilson.
