Jamaican Singers Keith and Tex Have Planned a Productive 2026

With over 60 years in the music business to their names, Keith and Tex retain a passion for recording new music to reach a new audience. Last year, the Jamaican singers agreed that 2026 would be productive for them.

kethtsThey kicked off that campaign in January with a cover of What You Won’t do For Love, Bobby Caldwell’s blue-eyed soul ballad. They followed-up in March with another remake, of Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps, a song that has been recorded by elite acts such as Desi Arnaz (of I Love Lucy fame) and Doris Day.

Like What You Won’t do For Love, their latest project is co-produced by Keith (Keith Rowe), Carl Fletcher and Basil "Benbow" Creary.

The veteran duo, according to Keith, have clocked many hours in the recording studio.

“Right now, we have three more singles on tap waiting to be released including a collaboration with a Mexican band. The songs are originals, but we are discussing doing more covers,” he said.

Keith, who lives in Tampa, Florida and the Toronto, Canada-based Tex made their name in the rock steady era of the late 1960s with songs like Tonight, Don’t Look Back and Stop That Train. Since officially reforming in the 1990s, they have released several albums including Gun Life, which came out in 2025.

They have also performed in Europe, Australia and Mexico.
