Playing at the National Stadium, Shaw gave her side an early lead in the eighth minute when she headed a corner from Deneisha Blackwood into the back of the net.
Jamaica wasted several chances to extend their lead and were also denied by some excellent work by Guyana’s goalkeeper Arden La-rose, who made 15 saves in the game.
However, Hayles, who came on as a second half substitute, put the game to bed in the 88th minute, guiding a cross from another substitute, Paige Bailey, from the left side past the goalkeeper.
