“Jamaica is Open for Your Business” — Prime Minister Andrew Holness

The 8th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference (16-20 June 2019), with its mantra this year “Building Pathways for Sustainable Development”, attracted thousands of delegates seeking to reconnect with their homeland, invest in rebuilding the country, and seek answers to some of Jamaica’s ills. The 5-day conference saw packed sessions at the Jamaica Conference Centre downtown Kingston, a model of sustainable development as it sits in the middle of an area once defined by crime and poverty, but is now being redeveloped and reenergised for growth.

Unifest 25: A Resounding Success

LAUDERDALE LAKES – Lauderdale Lakes was the place to be on the weekend of May 17th to May 19th as the annual UNIFEST Caribbean multi-cultural festival celebrated 25 years of bridging cultures!  The City of Lauderdale Lakes in partnership with the Greater Caribbean-American Cultural Coalition and the Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce hosted the 3-day Silver Anniversary celebration, a major milestone for this signature event.  Prior to the anniversary celebration, UNIFEST was named “Best Multi-Cultural Program” for its contribution to Florida’s tourism industry by the 2019 Synergy Summit for Cultural Heritage and Tourism.

Jamaica Tourist Board Sponsors Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet

ATLANTA, GA – The Jamaican Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta held its annual JamCham Awards Banquet in April at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta. Each year the event acknowledges and celebrates notable members who serve the community with distinction. This year, the event was sponsored by the Jamaica Tourist Board along with Panton Equity Partners, The Best Dressed Chicken, St. Regis, Metals & Materials Engineers (MME), Vertical Capital Advisors, Bak Foods, Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café & Upscale Lounge, Merrill Lynch, Stone Oak Lounge (Mortgage) and Sandals Resorts.
