NY Attorney General Beats Trump’s Bid to Restrict Food Aid for Caribbean Immigrants

NEW YORK,  – New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday announced that the ruling she secured striking down the former administration’s attempt to deny food assistance to nearly 700,000 Americans, including Caribbean immigrants, by changing the rules for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), will continue to have the force and effect of law following the dismissal of the federal government’s appeal from that ruling.

NEW YORK, CMC – Barbadian-born Justice Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix, the first president of the newly-formed Caribbean American Lawyers Association (CALA), has been bestowed the Hon. Theodore “Ted” Jones Lifetime Achievement Award by New York’s Unified Court System’s Committee to Celebrate Black History Month, The Tribune Society, Inc., and the Judicial Friends Association.

Commissioner Eileen Higgins and World Central Kitchen Delivered Thousands of Meals to Residents in District 5, Partnership to Continue Through March

MIAMI-DADE – Throughout the month of February, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, District 5, in collaboration with World Central Kitchen (WCK), distributed over 3,640 meals to seniors in District 5 as part of WCK’s #ChefsForAmerica nationwide emergency food relief program to District 5. Over the last four weeks, Commissioner Higgins has facilitated food distributions in senior buildings in Little Havana and Miami Beach, and added WCK program into her monthly drive-through distribution at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium.

DR. Kristal Mcgreggor Named to Team Jamaica Bickle Board

 New York/CMM….Team Jamaica Bickle, (TJB) has named Dr. Kristal McGreggor to the Board of Directors of the organization.  She succeeds long-standing member of TJB, Oswald Hancle, who sadly passed away late last year. A former student and athlete of the St. Andrew High School for Girls, where she was a member of the Track and Field team and captain of the Basketball team, Dr. McGreggor’s distinguished journey began at the Bronx Community College.  She then obtained a full athletic scholarship to the illustrious Hampton University.

Jamaica Working With US Government to Stem Crime, Says Ambassador Marks.

WASHINGTON DC,  - Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States Audrey Marks kicked off her town hall style, online meeting with the diaspora on Thursday March 4th 2021,by assuring Jamaicans that the government is working aggressively to implement all aspects of the Plan Secure Jamaica initiative, aimed at dealing with the crime problem facing the country.
