Miami-Dade Parks Advises: Plan Ahead Before Heading to Miami-Dade Marinas, Beaches and Atoll Pools for the Memorial Day Weekend

MIAMI – Miami-Dade Parks wants to remind and encourage everyone to plan ahead of their visit to Miami-Dade County marinas, Crandon Park and Haulover Park beaches, and atoll pools at Matheson Hammock and Homestead Bayfront Park. The Memorial Day Weekend is expected to bring a large number of visitors, a high traffic volume, and early closures for boat ramps and beach parking lots.

Record Number of Homeless Kids Need Your Help

This year, the number of homeless children in Broward County's school system reached 4,479, the highest number ever. Christmas in July will be relied upon to help meet their needs as in years past. Broward County is introducing a new Irrigation Improvement Rebate Program promoting high-tech EPA WaterSense®labeled devices such as weather-based timers and pressure regulating sprinklers for residential use. Participants can choose from four different rebate options.

MIAMI —Miami-Dade Parks wants to remind and encourage boaters who make our beautiful blueways a part of their park experience, to fully inspect their vessels, ensuring that all equipment is in good, serviceable condition and that life jackets are on board, and to register for free Miami-Dade Marina SMS Alerts here. This service keeps boaters up to date on issues like hazardous weather conditions and boat ramp closures and reopenings via email or text alerts on their mobile phones.

Full Moon Yoga at the Deering Estate

MIAMI —The Full Moon Yoga Series at the Deering Estate provides an opportunity to enjoy the sunset and end of the day while welcoming the full moon at one of the most beautiful settings in Palmetto Bay. Each session will host a guest or special theme to make for a unique experience. The next session is on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
