Nevis Sets the Scene for Lifetime's First Microdrama, Tides of Temptation

Nevis, West Indies – The island of Nevis continues to draw international attention as a filming destination with the debut of Tides of Temptation, the latest international production brought to the island through The Nevis Film Commission's efforts. Executive-produced by Taye Diggs, the Nevis-set suspense drama premiered on July 7, as the flagship launch title of the new Microhouse Films vertical platform and marks Lifetime's first microdrama. The launch places Nevis at the center of one of the entertainment industry's most significant moves into mobile-first storytelling.

By choosing Nevis as the setting, the production showcases the island not only as a breathtaking Caribbean destination but also as a creative hub capable of supporting premium productions, innovative storytelling, and emerging distribution platforms.

The Nevis Film Commission secured the production in December 2025, continuing its strategy of attracting high-profile international film and television projects to the island. The series further strengthens Nevis's growing reputation as a premier Caribbean destination for film, television, digital content, and commercial production.

Set against the island's stunning landscapes, Tides of Temptation follows Constance (Mea Wilkerson), a young woman trapped in a dangerous world controlled by her brother Malik and her volatile boyfriend Wes. When ambitious athlete Jamal (Swag Boy Q) enters her life, buried secrets and simmering tensions threaten to unravel everything beneath the surface of paradise. Troy Brookins and David John Craig also star.

The series is executive produced by Taye Diggs, Shelby Stone, and Autumn Federici of The Ninth House, with Troy Brookins co-producing. Gary and Edmund Entin directed from a script by Nanea Miyata, based on a story by Ejay Jamison.

"Tides of Temptation represents exactly the kind of forward-looking production we want to attract to Nevis," said Pamela Martin, Film Commissioner for Nevis. "This project not only showcases the beauty of our island but also demonstrates that Nevis can support innovative storytelling formats reaching audiences around the world. We are proud to have helped bring this production to the island and to see Nevis featured at the forefront of the next generation of entertainment."

"Nevis provided a breathtaking backdrop for one of the first original microseries created for the Microhouse Films platform, but it quickly became much more than a location. It became a character in the story," said Autumn Federici, Executive Producer and co-founder of Microhouse Films. "We're incredibly grateful to Pamela Martin, the Nevis Film Commission and the entire community for welcoming our team and partnering with us to bring this story to life. Their support made it possible to explore what's next for storytelling in one of the world's most extraordinary settings."

The series was developed alongside Lifetime's upcoming original movie, Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise with You, which also stars Taye Diggs and premieres later this year. Filmed in Nevis, the two productions share the same story world, with Tides of Temptation expanding the narrative through an original companion microdrama. Together, they give Nevis visibility across both traditional television movies and emerging mobile-first entertainment, extending the island's reach across multiple platforms and audiences.

Tides of Temptation is also the first of five projects planned under the strategic partnership between Lifetime and Microhouse Films, the creator-driven entertainment vertical platform co-founded by Diggs to develop premium vertical storytelling for mobile-first viewers.

The premiere builds on the remarkable momentum of Nevis's emerging screen industry. The island has served as the backdrop for numerous international productions, including A Week in Paradise, distributed by Lionsgate, and Christmas in the Caribbean starring Elizabeth Hurley, both streaming on major platforms including Amazon Prime Video. Between 2021 and 2023, nine productions were filmed on Nevis, demonstrating the island's growing appeal to international filmmakers.

Established in 2023, the Nevis Film Commission supports productions through competitive incentives, location scouting assistance, permitting guidance, local vendor connections, and production logistics. Beyond attracting international projects, the Commission is committed to generating employment, developing local talent and crew, expanding industry skills, and creating long-term economic opportunities for the people of Nevis.

As vertical storytelling continues to expand worldwide, Tides of Temptation marks another milestone in Nevis's growing production portfolio. By bringing together established Hollywood talent, Caribbean locations, and an innovative mobile-first distribution model, the production demonstrates the island's ability to support ambitious international projects while showcasing Nevis to audiences around the world.

The Nevis Film Commission invites filmmakers, studios, producers, and creators to discover what an increasing number of productions already have: an island offering extraordinary natural beauty, authentic Caribbean culture, production-ready infrastructure, experienced local partners, and comprehensive support for projects of every scale. Through strategic partnerships and a commitment to sustainable industry growth, the Commission continues to position Nevis as one of the Caribbean's most dynamic destinations for film and television production.
