Donovan Anderson Stages Reggae Concert Dubbed 'Legends Are Forever' November 29
Concerned at the lack of respect shown to reggae stalwarts, Donovan Anderson decided to stage a concert highlighting their achievements. Dubbed ‘Legends Are Forever’, it is scheduled for Clarendon parish in central Jamaica on November 29.

Anderson chose Clarendon because it is the birthplace of legends such as Toots Hibbert, Derrick Morgan, Cocoa Tea, Freddie McGregor and Millie Small.
It is also where his family is from and where he currently lives.
“I do not think enough is being done to celebrate our legends and that’s why we need more good promoters to continue the journey like Rebel Salute (annual show in Jamaica). That is why I’m also doing this show, to celebrate all our legends,” he said.
Anderson was born in Kingston and started out in the music business as an artist. He recorded songs for different producers including guitarist Earl “Chinna” Smith, and Henry “Junjo” Lawes before moving into show production 20 years ago.
As head of Conscious International Productions, he books artistes for shows and has been a senior production member for major reggae events such as Rebel Salute, Red Rose For Gregory and St. Mary Mi Come.
For Anderson, promoting a show in Clarendon is special.
“My family is from Clarendon and I moved here during the (Covid) pandemic. I saw that there were no shows in Clarendon since Cocoa Tea’s Jam Jam and Everton Blender’s show. That’s when I came up with the idea. I named the Show ‘Legends Are Forever’ because I believe that all real artists are legends,” he said.
