On September 3, 2019 Hurricane Dorian, a powerful and deadly tempest struck the Bahamas, devasting the island of Grand Bahamas, killing at least 43 and bringing ruin and destruction to over 79,000 residents.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff and the community we serve, Sant La sends a message of condolences and support to the people of the Bahamas. As South Floridians and as Haitians we understand what it means to endure devastation of such magnitude and we know that reconstruction will be a lengthy endeavor. As such we urge everyone is South Florida and beyond to support our neighbors most generously.
We thank the Bahamian government’s efforts to treat each and every displaced person with respect and dignity. We reaffirm our solidarity and stand ready to do our part to assist the People of the Bahamas in their hour of need.
