Suriname Moves Closer to Having New Government

PARAMAIBO, Suriname - Suriname moved closer to having a new government after six opposition parties Sunday night signed a coalition agreement following the decision of the Central Political Body of the National Democratic Party (NDP) gave the green light for the main opposition party to proceed with signing the new accord.

Jamaica’s New Ambassador Arrives in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. - Jamaica has a new envoy to the United States. Major General (Ret’d) Antony Anderson arrived in Washington, DC, on Wednesday afternoon as Ambassador-Designate to take up his position as his country’s 14th Ambassador to the United States.

Albert Ramdin Officially Steps Down As Government Minister in Suriname

PARAMARIBO, Suriname – Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation (Bibis), Albert Ramdin on Monday formally handed over his portfolio to the Defence Minister, Krishna Mathoera, as he prepares to be sworn in as the new Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) on May 30.

Ramdin has transferred management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation to his colleague from Defence, Krishna Mathoera.
