LONDON, England - Trinidad and Tobago capped last month’s IAAF World Championships here with a golden relay run, but the Caribbean fell short of its own lofty track and field standards, despite the highly emotional global embrace of retiring Jamaica legend Usain Bolt. The championships, which ran from Aug. 4-13, featured athletes representing over 200 countries at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadium. But T&T’s team of Jarrin Solomon, Jereem Richards, Machel Cedeno and Lalonde Gordon brought the curtain down in style. The quartet stormed by the United States to win the 4x400 meters title in a world leading time of two minutes 58.12 seconds.
THE RECAP.  In a wildly entertaining 90-minute match, Fury FC had to settle for their fourth consecutive draw. Jamar Dixon helped Ottawa claim the lead early, but the Independence found their equalizer at the death and Andrae Campbell’s stoppage-time effort was denied by the post as it ended 1-1 in North Carolina.
Three places in The Championship are still up for grabs.  NEW YORK (September 15, 2017) - Week 8 of the Fall Season got underway on Wednesday night as Indy Eleven pulled out a dramatic win over North Carolina FC. Veteran Eamon Zayed scored the lone goal in stoppage time at Carroll Stadium. Now, Indy continues its week on the road in a matchup with FC Edmonton on Sunday while North Carolina returns home to face Puerto Rico FC in the only Saturday night contest.
CHICAGO (September 3, 2017) – Despite a strong effort from the first-place NC Courage, the Chicago Red Stars slipped by 2-1 on Sunday night at Toyota Park. The Courage remains in first place in the NWSL with 42 points. An early goal from Lynn Williams gave the Courage a lead that held through halftime, but two second-half goals, including a tally in the 84th minute led to the win for Chicago.
News Americas, FLUSHING, NY, Fri. Sept. 1, 2017: The Caribbean should be proud as two Caribbean roots players remain in the 2017 US Open. While Guyanese-roots Sachia Vickery lost to fellow American Sofia “Sonya” Kenin Wednesday; Barbados’ Darian King held on but lost to Germany’s Alexander “Sascha” Zverev Jr. on Monday, Aug. 28; Haitian American Victoria Duval lost to Alexandra “Allie” Kiick and Germany-born, Jamaican roots player, Dustin Brown lost to Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut Thursday, one other Caribbean roots player remains in the competition.
