 Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Hon. Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay welcomed its one millionth visitor on Saturday, August 28, 2010. The couple, Aaron and Angela Wilson arrived in Montego Bay onboard AirTran from Baltimore. The couple, which is visiting Jamaica to celebrate their 2nd wedding anniversary, will be staying at one of the island’s small hotels, Catch-A-Falling Star Resort in Negril. |

Anguilla Appoints Director of Tourism |

 Candis Niles - Director of Tourism Mrs. Candis Niles has been selected as the new Director of Tourism with the Anguilla Tourist Board. She replaces Miss Merlyn Rogers, former Director of Marketing, who had assumed the role of Acting Director upon the retirement of Mrs. Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch.
Mrs. Niles, who assumed her position with effect from July 26, 2010, is a former employee of the Anguilla Tourist Board, where she held the position of Deputy Director of Tourism from 1995-2004. |

Jamaica's Capital City To Host CMEx Conference |

With tourism a mainstay of Jamaica's economy, contributing significantly to the island's gross domestic product (GDP), the capital city, Kingston, is readying itself to host the 19th staging of the Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) on Sustainable Tourism. The conference, which takes place from September 30 to October 4, 2010, will explore a variety of issues including the extent to which tourism stimulates other sectors of the economy. |
