Calabar Old Boys' Association Hosts Annual Dinner and Awards

On October 6, 2018, the Calabar Old Boys' Association (COBA) held its Annual Reunion Dinner at the Mona Visitors Lodge & Conference Centre and the turnout of old boys, families, friends and well wishers was delightful. 

Three persons were honoured for the contribution to nation building in various fields.  Mrs. Lucinda Johnston, former teacher and acting Vice Principal; Mr. Harriett 'Harry' Maragh, for building a notable player in Jamaica's shipping industry; and Mr. Charles Ross, for his work in building the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and Sterling Asset Management Ltd., one of the leading financial advisors in our country.

Major General Antony Anderson, from the Class of 1980, the current Commissioner of Police, presented the keynote address under the theme "Crime Fighting for Nation Building" and Master of Ceremonies Hon. Michael Fennell OJ together with former Prime Minister, the Most Honorable Percival J. Patterson joined together to host a spirited pledge session to raise funds for COBA's academic programmes and the creation of a new entrance gate for the School.

Four persons were handed the prestigious President's Award for their contribution to COBA and to Calabar: Mr. Clement McCalla, Secretary of the New York Chapter of COBA, Mr. Holmer Morgan, Mr. Patrick Phillips & past president of COBA Mr. Russel Thompson.  The top student achievers in our school were also recognized for their performance over the past year.  All in all, it was a fun filled evening of recognizing excellence and contribution to Calabar.
