The opening session begins at 10:00am on Thursday, January 25, 2018, with keynote addresses by Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, Chairman Esteban L. Bovo, Jr. and Mayor Oliver Gilbert, III. We are glad to have Michael Putney, the Senior Political Reporter at Local 10 television, as the Master of Ceremonies for the opening session.
The afternoon features a working lunch with a technology report from the Fastrack Institute on the Miami Mobility Team. This is followed by breakout sessions where summit participants can attend the Transportation Planning Organization Governing Board meeting at Government Center or remain at
the summit venue for the Livable Communities panel.
On Friday, Commissioner Dennis C. Moss will preside over the panel on funding the SMART Plan where the discussion will focus on national best practices and the funding status of each corridor.
The goal of the summit is to continue to build support for major transportation investments in Miami-Dade County during this event. This is an important step in the process of engaging all stakeholders in charting the course of future transit development.
There is no charge to attend and the venue is easily accessible from the College/Bayside Metromover Station. For more information visit http://www.miamidade.gov/citt/
